Approached from the courtyard, the Stables is entered through an arch, fully glazed to let in light. Behind are the fields leading in one direction up to Speedwell Cavern and Winnats Pass, and in the other direction towards the Great Ridge.
Also in the courtyard is a boot room – a drying room with a large sink – particularly useful if you have had a muddy day of walking or cycling.
Once inside you will find underfloor heating (upstairs and down), high speed wifi and easily operated blinds for the large front windows when you need some privacy.
Downstairs the cottage is open plan, allowing separate seating, dining and kitchen areas. Unlike the smaller cottages, the stables lounge is more spacious and includes sofas.
Modern fittings are set amongst windows looking out onto a field which, in spring, is full of newborn lambs. Beyond are views to the surrounding hills and fields.
The kitchen is fully fitted, including washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Upstairs, each bedroom is light and airy, with wooden beams and a skylight to bring in extra light.
The double bedroom, with views to the Great Ridge, has an en-suite shower room.
There two twin rooms each with a skylight looking to the hill (Cow Low, pronounced Caller) behind the Gardener's Cottage. They share the second bathroom.
